Lew played for the Augusta (Georgia) Greenjackets in the South Atlantic League in his second season of pro ball. Playing center field and batting leadoff, Lew led minor league baseball in runs scored, was named a League All Star, was named Baseball America's Best Defensive Outfielder in Class A Ball, and was named the Red Sox Top 5-Tool Prospect by the Sporting News. Lew made his major league debut with the Minnesota Twins in 2003. The Twins were Central Division Champions three times during Lew's five years there. In 2012, Lew was signed by the Baltimore Orioles and was a part of their playoff run that included a 5 - 1 win over the Texas Rangers in the American League Wild Card. Hear Lew's incredible story on Down Trails of Victory podcast!

Lew played in the Dominican League Championship Series in 2014 and 2016, and was named Series MVP in both of them. In 2014, he played with the winning Tigres del Licey, and in 2016 he played with the winning Leones del Escogito. In the picture above he holds the Championship trophy and the MVP trophy for the Leones del Escogito.

Lew has been associated with the Long Island Ducks for several years. In 2014, he was named Atlantic League Player for the Year, and the Ducks created a souvenir statue for their fans to commemorate Lew's accomplishment. Lew is presently a player/coach for the Ducks.
When Lew first got called up to the majors in May, 2003, Buck and Buck's 83-year old mother Irene flew to San Diego to watch Lew and the Twins play the Padres. At that time, we didn't know how long Lew's baseball career would be. This picture was taken at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
In 2006, the Twins played the Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston. A lot of friends and family came out to support him. In this picture are Lew, Buck, and Lew's brother Shelby.
In May of 2012, Lew was in Sugar Land playing for the Long Island Ducks against the Skeeters. His family turned out for him. Just a few days later, Lew signed a Triple-A contract with the Orioles, and by the end of July Lew was once again in the majors as part of Baltimore's playoff run.
